Roger Evans FCA, 360 FD Services Limited
Roger set up 360 FD Services in September 2017 to provide a virtual FD service to SMEs that need the skills of an FD but cannot justify the full time cost and commitment to employ one. Before setting up 360 FD Services, Roger was a key part of helping an SME business transition from a conventional, office based, business model to a completely virtual one. Prior to that, Roger held senior finance roles in a number of sector leading organisations.
Andrew Mead BSc, MBA, FCA, AndMe Consulting
Andrew Mead is an independent consultant specialising in accounting advice, financial reporting and GAAP conversions, as well as providing short-term or part-time financial resource to companies, reporting to Board level. Andrew was an Audit Director with KPMG locally for many years where he was responsible for the audit of a mixed portfolio of large international companies; growing owner managed businesses, as well as clients in the education and charity sectors.
Carole Le Page BSc, ACA, CTA and Mark Seaden, BDO
Carole is a director with extensive experience of advising on tax matters. She currently works with businesses of all size, from early stage owner managed businesses to listed groups, supporting companies and shareholders on an international basis from a tax compliance and advisory perspective. She supports clients in a wide range of sectors, but particularly focusses on businesses in the life sciences sector, as well as working closely with BDO’s corporate finance team to provide tax structuring advice on M&A transactions.
Mark has been working in employment taxes for in excess of 20 years, both at HMRC and in practice, currently heading up BDO’s Employment Tax offering in the Thames Valley. He advises clients from a rage of sectors regarding all areas connected with both compliance and cost efficiency. A constant theme throughout the period relates to issues around off payroll labour, whether that concerns employment status, use of personal service companies, agencies or off shore intermediaries.
Susan Heaton Wright BA (Hons) PGdip QTS FRGS FRSA FISM,Impact Communications and Speaking
Susan is an International Speaker, challenging audiences to make an impact when they speak and communicate with others. She shares the secret of developing charisma and how to engage with others in a powerful way using her Superstar Communicator™ philosophy. The bulk of her work is with leaders, and the content is focused to that audience. Susan is the former East of England regional president for the Professional Speakers Association.
Frances Haque, Santander
Frances Haque is the Chief Economist for Santander UK responsible for the economic analysis and macroeconomic forecasts used by the retail bank. Her team are also responsible for developing the analysis of the economic risk scenarios to support the PRA stress test and IFRS 9 processes. Prior to joining she worked for a number of different institutions as a senior economist including, EY, BT, BBC, Ofcom and the OFT. She also specialises in Competition and Regulatory economics and has appeared on BBC News and the Today programme providing commentary on economic data published.
Barbara Scott, Customs Associates Ltd.
Barbara is the owner of Customs Associates Ltd, a UK independent customs and international trade consultancy providing advice and support to importers and exporters. She helps companies, ranging from small independent importers to global companies, to pay the minimum amount of import duties whilst at the same time ensuring that they fulfil their legal obligations and comply with the many complex EU customs and trade regulations.
Barbara’s areas of specific expertise include tariff classification, customs valuation and applications for and compliance with customs procedures such as inward processing relief, customs warehousing and authorised economic operators (AEO).
Julie Swan LLB, FCA, Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, Mark Phillips, Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, and Danny Allen, Partner, Licensed Insolvency Practitioner PCR LLP
Julie is a chartered accountant as well as an insolvency practitioner and has worked in insolvency for over 25 years. Julie’s experience is widespread including appointments in construction, fashion, sports and leisure and retail. Julie has also worked within the finance team of a development/construction arm of a listed plc, giving her insight in this area and an understanding of the operational complexities in such businesses. As well as dealing with insolvency issues, Julie lends her experience to cashflow management issues on behalf of solvent clients.
Mark has 27 years’ experience in insolvency practice, dealing with a wide variety of assignments across many industries including construction, sports and leisure, pharmaceuticals, wholesale and retail. Mark also undertakes investigative cases where there are potential claims for, amongst other things, wrongful trading and misfeasance.
Danny has a range of experience in personal and corporate insolvency, with over 12 years at City practices and has developed particular specialisms in property development and asset management, online business and media.

Cancellations and late bookingsIf you cannot attend you can transfer your place to another individual. Places can be transferred at any time up to and including the day of the event. Cancellations received less than 14 days before the event date will not be refunded. All cancellations must be made in writing. If BBHSCA has to cancel the event, our liability in the event of cancellation is limited to a full refund of the fee.
If we receive your booking less than 7 days before the course you may not get a copy of the notes on the day. BBHSCA reserves the right to change the timing of the programme, the speakers, the date or the venue of the courses advertised. The content of individual courses may be subject to variation.
