As Head of Dubai, Murray is responsible for the leadership of Savills' largest office in the MENA region, totalling around 80 staff, and has a 16 year track record of diverse GCC & UK real estate consultancy experience.
More specifically, Murray specialises in Capital Markets,advising on commercial investment transactional activity throughout the Middle East region, for a range of both private and institutional clients. His role also involves management of Savills' commercial agency team in Dubai. which carries out an extensive range of sales and leasing instructions across all commercial sectors, including specialist services with regards to office, retail, industrial and hospitality premises.
In addition, Murray currently serves as an RICS National Board Member and assists with assessing APC graduates as a qualified APC chairman. He is a RERA qualified broker, an ACIArb accredited arbitrator and an RICS accredited valuer and mediator. He is a regular contributor to industry events and regional media outlets such as Bloomberg & CNBC, Dubai Eye radio and The National.
Mahmoud AlBurai- Vice President International Real estate Federation - Arabic Countries
Mahmoud AlBurai is currently serving as Vice President International Real estate Federation - Arabic Countries mandated to work on a plan to make Dubai more competitive. Before this role Mahmoud has served as the CEO of Dubai Real estate Institute for 10 years in which the institute graduated 80,000 real estate professionals from the region. He is the Vice President of International real estate federation, FIABCI Arabic Countries since 2016 and sits on the board of International Real estate Society (IRES). Mahmoud sits on the board of National Association of Realtors (NAR), 1.3 million member real estate network based in Chicago. Mahmoud has been selected to be FIABCI representative at the United Nations Economic Commission for West Asia (UNESCWA) and UNECE (Geneva). He is also the Chairman of UN Global Compact UAE since 2015 and represent MENA region in UN Global Compact advisory board since two years. In his role as UN Global Compact MENA representative led many SDG’s driven initiatives. He started youth ambassadors programs in seven UAE universities recruiting over 150 youth, train them to help businesses become more sustainable. He also led establishing Women empowerment principles platform in the UAE with 60 companies signing on WEPs commitment. To promote SDGs among business, Mahmoud launched SDGs pioneers UAE celebrating SDGs success stories of private and government organizations. Recently Mahmoud established his Think Tank in Geneva under the name of Middle East Sustainable Development Institute to lobby governments, businesses and communities to action on SDGs in the Middle East. His mail role is to lobby private sector in the region to be actively involved in SDGs, during his presidency, UAE local network became the fastest growing network internationally. Moreover, Mahmoud leads the affordable Housing working-group at World Economic Forum. Mahmoud has been selected recently to be on the Board of National Association of Realtors, largest real estate network in the world. Mahmoud also serves as an advisor-MENA region at Happy City Lab, headquartered in Canada which works on integrating happiness into urban design.
Prior to his position in Dubai Real estate Institute, Mahmoud worked as Senior Director of Real estate Sector development at Real estate Regulatory Authority of Dubai and few years as a Development Associate Manager at Dubai holding. Mahmoud completed his bachelor's degree in engineering at the American University before continuing on to earn his Master's in Real Estate from National University of Singapore. Mahmoud completed his MBA in Finance from his alma mater, American University of Dubai in 2010 and Master of Cities at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2019 and pursuing DBA at Grenoble ecole de management in France and Master of Sustainable Development from University of Oxford.
Martin Berlin , Global Deals Real Estate Leader, PwC
Martin leads the Real Estate, Hospitality and Leisure Practice in the Middle East and also serves as the Global Deals Real Estate Leader. Recently, he has worked on projects advising Leisure & Entertainment developers, Tourism Authorities, Hotel developers, Real Estate and Architectural & Engineering companies in their corporate strategy development, feasibility studies, business plans and market entry studies
Martin is also actively involved in the Global Deal Origination initiative that has the objective to present customised deal opportunities to a targeted list of global investors (e.g. SWFs, Pension Funds and PE). He has also worked on several feasibility studies for Leisure, Entertainment & Hospitality development projects in the Middle East.
Tara Marlow , Head of Real Estate, Hotels and Leisure, Al Tamimi & Company
Tara is a Partner and Head of the regional Real Estate practice and Hotels & Leisure sector group at Al Tamimi & Company. She trained in the City of London, qualifying in 2000, and remained in private practice advising property developers, financial institutions, investors, landlords and tenants on all areas of commercial real estate and development, before joining Al Tamimi & Company in Dubai in 2004. In 2006, Tara accepted the role of general counsel of the hotels division of a Dubai based hotel development and asset management company. She established and managed a dedicated legal function, utilising her development experience whilst gaining in-depth knowledge of the hotel industry. Tara advised on the development, construction, operation and asset management of a hotel portfolio spread across the MENA region comprising approximately 3,500 operational rooms, together with a number of hotel projects at various stages of development.
Tara re-joined Al Tamimi & Company in December 2009 to establish the firm’s Hotels & Leisure sector, bringing her combined hotel industry and real estate development skills and experience. She is regularly published in industry and legal journals and is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences throughout the region. Tara is ranked by Chambers & Partners Global legal directory with a Band 2 ranking as a Leader in her field.
Alexander Gross, Senior Director, Drooms
Alexander Gross has been with Drooms in Frankfurt, Germany, since 2017 as a Senior Director where he is responsible for international business development in Corporate Finance for Germany, CEE, Turkey and the MENA region. Drooms (drooms.com) is a leading global provider of secure cloud solutions headquartered in Switzerland and has securely hosted transactions worth over US$250bn. Drooms' clients include the world's leading real estate companies, banks, advisors, law firms and corporations such as UBS, METRO GROUP, Evonik, Jones Lang Lasalle, J.P. Morgan, CBRE, Swissgrid and many more.
Prior to joining Drooms Alexander was the regional director for a US VDR provider for over 10 years and successfully introduced virtual data rooms to businesses in various regions. He also spent seven years working in various roles at Thomson Reuters looking after corporate clients. He studied International Business Administration at the International School of Management (ISM) in Dortmund, the European Business School (EBS) in London and Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) in Honolulu.
Drooms is now leading the third revolution in due diligence bringing artificial intelligence (AI) to the virtual data room to automate and speed up transaction processes. For the first time the Drooms NXG platform introduces self-learning software and artificial intelligence. The newly developed Findings Manager helps speed up the due diligence process and assesses potential risks and opportunities of a deal by an automated pre-analysis of the data room documents. For international deals the content of due diligence documents can be translated in real-time from German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and soon Arabic into English and back without any third-party involvement.
