Stephen has worked in French taxation for some twenty-nine years, having previously worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the UK and in France. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants’ Institute in England and Wales. Stephen worked for PwC and its predecessor firms from 1976 until retirement from PwC in September 2017. Stephen now works for Hedeos a French law firm.
Stephen is a member (and former Chairman) of the FEE (Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens – now Accountancy Europe) Tax Policy Group. Stephen was re-appointed Chairman of the International VAT Association in 2017 and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales VAT Committee (and former Chairman). He was appointed to the EU Commission’s VAT Forum in 2012 and reappointed to the VAT Expert Group in 2019 – and worked on policy papers on VAT Groups, Establishments and most recently on the VAT Definitive regime.
He is a founding board member of the Association de la Pratique de la TVA européenne (APTE) and a member of the OECD’s TAG on consumption taxes.
Stephen graduated from Manchester University in 1976 – BA(Econ) Hons.
Liam Dushynsky specialises in VAT, Customs Duty and other indirect tax matters. Liam has been advising in this area since 2005. Liam is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax and Institute of Indirect Tax. Liam obtained the Customs Practitioner Award and is studying towards a diploma in International Trade from the Intitute of Export and International Trade.
He has represented the ICAEW at meetings with HMRC at the Treasury and has assisted clients in appealing to the tribunals (lower and upper tier) in both VAT and customs matters. Liam is also a member of the Customs Practitioners Group and regularly meets with government departments on latest developments.
Liam also has a Masters in Engineering and Management, which covered logistics and supply chain management. His problem solving experience allows Liam to give sound advice with practical implementation.
Liam’s attention to detail, tireless effort to help and friendly approach is busineeses like working with him.
