Event Information

The Government has just committed to cut UK emissions 68% by 2030 and for the first time the Committee on Climate Change's (CCC) 6th Carbon Budget will set a trajectory for reducing the UK’s carbon emissions in line with the Government's Net Zero 2050 target. This, combined with the policies expected from the Government and the potential outcomes of COP26 in 2021, will shape the future operating environment for business for years to come. Understanding this changing landscape will be essential if non-executive directors want their businesses to benefit from the opportunities that it will create and protect them from risk.

Join Emily Farnworth, who led the World Economic Forum's work on Climate Governance, in conversation with Chris Stark, CEO of the Committee on Climate Change (CCC), as they explore business' role in delivering the UK's Net Zero ambition and the 6th Carbon Budget. They will be joined by Ruth Cairnie, Chair of Babcock and Chapter Zero’s latest supporting Chair and Ian Wright, Director for Business and Industrial Strategy at ICAEW, for a discussion about the wider business implications in the lead up to COP26. Please use the speaker tab above to learn more about our speakers.
