Event Information

Resilience can often mean the difference between handling pressure and losing control. It gives you the strength to tackle problems head on and overcome adversity. The way you react to challenges and setbacks is a reflection of how resilient you are. Resilient people tend to maintain a more positive outlook - they learn from their experiences, cope more effectively, and are healthier physically and mentally.

Resilience can be learned by anyone and can greatly improve our lives. This course will give you the information, strategies, and techniques to help you become a more resilient individual, better handle stress, and thrive during adversity.

You'll learn how to develop your resilience both in and out of the workplace. You'll find out how to boost your self-belief and adopt a more positive attitude.

In this CPD workshop, you will:

- Learn strategies that will boost your resilience during times of stress
- Understand the difference between stress and pressure.
- Understand how to identify stress in yourself and others
- Have a better understanding of your own stressors and the causes
- Design an action plan to increase your resilience.

This is a free event tailored to ICAEW Members in the early stages of their careers (up to 15 years post qualified) in association with CABA.

Born and educated in Canada, Patrick moved to London in his 20s where he began working in financial services recruitment.

From London, he was headhunted to Asia by a U.S. executive search group as China manager based in Shanghai, opening offices in Beijing and Southern China. He managed career opportunities for international managers in the legal, banking and financial services, consumer goods and healthcare industries.

After a successful career in executive recruitment he took his coaching skills into communications, developing web, digital and executive communications campaigns for Asia Pacific clients.

Patrick trains presentation and persuasion skills for each of his clients to articulate their corporate objectives with clarity, impact and relevance.
