Aimed at those preparing accounts under FRS 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and FRS 105 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable to the Micro-entities Regime,this webinar will cover going concern and impairment considerations for accounts with December 2020 / early 2021 year-ends.

With the impact of both COVID-19 and Brexit to reflect in accounts, going concern assessments and asset valuations will require significant judgement and estimation. Speakers:

Matthew Howells is a partner at Smith & Williamson, where he is head of their national assurance technical group.  He is responsible for the firm’s audit methodology and compliance with audit and accounting regulation and regularly presents internal and external webinars and training courses on financial reporting and audit matters.

Matt sits on ICAEW’s Technical and Practical Auditing Committee and the Financial Reporting Editorial Board.  He is also a member of the Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting expert group of the Quoted Companies Alliance, the independent membership organisation that champions the interests of small to mid-size quoted companies. 

Tessa Park is technical partner at Moore Kingston Smith providing advice to partners and staff on implementing key aspects of financial reporting and auditing standards, including IFRS. She also facilitates training in these technical areas to partners and staff, and acts as second partner on a number of Moore Kingston Smith’s listed audit clients.  

Tessa is also a member of the Financial Reporting Council’s UK GAAP Technical Advisory Group and the ICAEW’s Financial Reporting Committee.
