Mei-Ling McNab, Partner and Head of Family, Brachers LLP

Mei-Ling has practised family law since 2000 and in Kent for the last seven years, having spent the previous 13 years at a niche family practice in London. Mei-Ling is noted for her strength and reputation in high net worth financial disputes and pre-/ post-nuptial agreements. Amongst her peers Mei-Ling has built up a stellar reputation for her proactive approach and ability to ‘think outside the box’ in particular for dealing with marital disputes within the agricultural and business sectors.

Mei-Ling has a thriving collaborative practice. She is committed to ensuring that each client is fully aware of, and where possible are able to engage in the breadth of dispute resolution (DR) options as explained in her November/December 2019 issue of the Resolution Review publication ‘The pros and cons of early revival evaluation’.

Earlier this year, Mei-Ling was appointed as the new NSPCC Branch President (Mid, North and West Kent). She will lend her expertise in supporting victims of domestic abuse, helping families resolve disputes concerning children following family break-ups and all aspects of family law.

Mei-Ling continues to share and debate her insight on prevalent family law issues, most recently being interviewed on BBC Radio Kent at the beginning of 2020. Mei-Ling continues to organise both internal and external seminars supported by local law firms.

Mark Leeson, Partner and Joint Head of Family, Brachers LLP

Mark has worked in family law in Kent for more than 30 years and is highly regarded by local practitioners, counsel and the judiciary.

Mark has significant expertise in all areas of family law including matrimonial finances, children and cohabitee disputes. Mark trained as a mediator in 1995 and has been accredited since 1999. He continues to undertake mediations regularly and also chairs a local mediator’s group.

Mark has also been a collaborative practitioner since 2007. He has completed the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialist ACTAPS course. He provides training in family law for trainees in the Law South Group.

Mark sits on the Kent Resolution Committee and the national Resolution Learning and Training Committee – from this year he is now also involved in a Resolution Learning and Training Committee sub-committee dealing with diversity and inclusion.
