The event will be officiated by Michael Izza, ICAEW Chief Executive, with keynote address from Steve Kenzie, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network UK. A short trailer will be screened, followed by a briefing of ICAEW’s sustainability initiatives and an in-depth panel discussion.
The panellists at this event include area experts from ICAEW Sustainability Faculty, World Wide Fund for Nature, PwC Malaysia, and Alliance to End Plastic Waste. They will discuss the pressing matters relating impact of climate change, the role financial services sector plays in mitigating and supporting efforts into developing countries to adapt and build resilience, and help recovery of the natural economy.

Michael regularly meets ministers, policy-makers and regulators around the world, and is a frequent media commentator on economic and business issues. He passionately believes that the emerging forces which are already changing the very nature of work - such as technological disruption - present ICAEW Chartered Accountants with many more opportunities than threats. He is committed to helping the profession evolve to meet that challenge successfully.
Keynote address and panellist: Steve Kenzie, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network UKSteve has managed the Secretariat of the UN Global Compact Network UK since 2008, connecting UK companies and other organisations in a global movement dedicated to driving corporate sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals. He also Chairs the UN Global Compact’s Global Network Council and sits on the UN Global Compact Board.
He was previously a Programme Director at the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) leading projects across a wide range of responsible business issue areas. Prior to joining IBLF, Steve was the founder and Managing Director of a successful retail sports equipment business in Canada.
He has a B.Comm from the University of British Columbia and an MSc in Business & Environment from Imperial College London.
Moderator: Francesca Sharp, Technical Lead, Climate Change, ICAEWFrancesca Sharp is the Technical Lead on Climate Change at ICAEW. She joined ICAEW in 2014 to build, maintain and engage communities of interest and practice in its sustainability work. Francesca is responsible for ICAEWs strategy for delivery of the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development and Climate Change. Francesca is a Lead Assessor for the Finance for the Future Awards run in partnership with HRH the Prince of Wales Accounting for Sustainability Project and Deloitte. Francesca is also a member of the Steering Group of the UK Stakeholders for Sustainable Development (UKSSD).
Before joining ICAEW, Francesca worked at AccountAbility, a global think tank and standards setter in sustainability. She was responsible for managing the development of the principles-based AA1000 series of standards, and their multi-stakeholder development process.
Francesca has a Master’s Degree from the University of St Andrews in International Relations with a minor in Sustainable Development.
Panellists:Sylvain Augoyard, Vice President, Asia Sustainable Finance, WWF SingaporeSylvain works with financial sector stakeholders to strengthen their ESG integration capabilities, leads the team's work with central banks and supervisors, and authored the Sustainable Banking Regulations in ASEAN – Raising the Bar report, published in December 2019. Previously, Sylvain was with BNP Paribas CIB, where he contributed to setting up the bank's E&S risk management framework. He holds a MSc in Engineering from ENSTA ParisTech, one of the top French engineering schools, and also studied at the UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development (IESD) in Shanghai.
Sophia Porcelli FCA, Chief Finance Officer and VP Operations, Alliance to End Plastic WasteSophia joined the Alliance early 2020, a US non-profit headquartered in Singapore. It is co-founded by selected leading corporates to combat plastic waste globally. The Alliance partners with MNCs, start-ups, NGOs, governments and development agencies to catalyse sustainable, innovative solutions with social impact.
Sophia is an international finance professional. She has led cross-cultural teams with 20+ years’ experience in mature and emerging markets for listed and privately owned MNCs, as well as non-profits. Sophia serves CEOs, boards and leadership teams. She is keen to contribute in this reputable finance forum to address climate change and waste management.
Sophia is a member of ICAEW and and the CFA Institute.
Pauline Ho ACA, Assurance Partner and Net Zero Leader, PwC MalaysiaPauline Ho is an Assurance Partner in PwC Malaysia and has over 25 years of experience handling audit and audit related assignments in Malaysia and United Kingdom. Her portfolio of clients include a wide range of Malaysian and multinational companies in various industries including entertainment & media and oil & gas. Besides her audit portfolio, she has managed projects involving corporate exercises such as public floatation, equity issues, cross border offerings, due diligence reviews for proposed acquisitions, reviews of profit and cash flow forecasts and projections in relation to equity issues and operational reviews of business processes.
Pauline is also the Chief Strategic Operations Officer for PwC Malaysia-Vietnam region and is part of the firm’s Executive Board, the Human Capital Leader in PwC Asia Pacific, a regional collaboration of PwC firms in the Asia Pacific region, and PwC Malaysia’s Net Zero Leader.
She is a member of the MIA, the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) as well as a Fellow of CPA Australia.
