Event information

Part 1 will be lead by Andrew McKenzie-Smart who will talk you through the additional support that maybe available to your clients who are struggling with their finances due to the on-going pandemic, with practical steps on how to advise your clients to manage their risks and improve cash-flow.

Part 2 will be lead by Tom Ahmad who will explain the different recovery and insolvency solutions available to businesses struggling with their finances due to Covid-19.

There will be an opportunity to raise any questions you may have.

Andrew McKenzie-Smart
Andrew (Mac) McKenzie-Smart is a Chartered Accountant as well as a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser & member of the Association of Tax Technicians. Mac has broad tax experience, solid technical skills, and has provided numerous seminars & conferences to tax professionals via the ICAEW, CIOT and ACCA. He has also provided technical updates on tax issues to the clients & staff of the practices he has worked at.

Currently he is a member of Smart Accounting & Tax Solutions LLP, which he established in 2011, after working for Smith & Williamson Limited, Haines Watts and Rawlinson & Hunter.

He is the former President of the Croydon & District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales, as well as a former National Chairman of the Joint ATT & CIOT Branch Network. He continues to be involved in the South London & Surrey branch of the CIOT having previously been Chairman between 2008 & 2011. He chairs the ICAEW Croydon & District Tax Discussion Group as well as the one for South East London. The Tax Discussion Group he chairs covers the issues affecting general practitioners in the South London & Surrey area each month.

Tom Ahmad
Tom is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner who started his career working at a leading firm of insolvency practitioners in central London before co-founding Bailey Ahmad Business Recovery in January 2007.

Tom has worked on a wide range of corporate assignments, with a focus on owner-managed and sole trader businesses. He also has experience dealing with the estates of insolvent individuals and assisting the effective implementation of Voluntary Arrangements between companies/individuals and their creditors.

Tom is also President of ICAEW Croydon.
