Digitisation in reporting and filing have been embraced in recent years, with progress of real-time information and the integration of iXBRL into tax and financial reporting. Developments in climate reporting and other non-financial reporting, together with calls in the Brydon report and wider audit reform for ‘more informative’ auditor reporting, will only serve to drive further digitisation of the financial reporting chain. The pandemic is also quickening the pace of technological change. Trust in financial statements starts with accurate financial information, supported by robust systems and controls.
The pandemic is giving finance teams cause to consider how they ensure their finance systems are fit-for-purpose given the evolving economic environment. Finance teams are accelerating digitisation in the cloud to deliver scale and process resilience as they transition to new operating models. This session will review technology trends since the pandemic start, COVID-19 risk in 2021 financial statements, the digital workplace and new financial reporting operating models while maintaining trust and confidence in your financial statements.
