Andrew Mead BSc, MBA, FCA AndMe Consulting Andrew Mead is an independent consultant specialising in accounting advice, financial reporting and GAAP conversions. He also provides short term and part time finance resource as Head of Finance or Finance Director and has worked on Finance Transformations. His clients include a wide range of organisations and sectors where he provides both commercial and technical support. Andrew is an ICAEW Council member representing BBH.
Andrew was an Audit Director with KPMG locally for many years where he was responsible for the audit of a mixed portfolio of clients including large commercial companies and not-for profit organisations. He also spent time within KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services team where he worked on providing solutions to complex accounting problems. Andrew is experienced in IFRS and UK GAAP. He is also an experienced presenter and has delivered financial reporting training to many organisations in the UK and overseas. Andrew is a freelance presenter for both BPP and the ICAEW Professional Academy.
Iain Wright BA BFP FCAManaging Director, Reputation & Influence ICAEWIain Wright trained as a Chartered Accountant and worked at Deloitte and Touche from 1996-2003 and at One NorthEast, the regional development agency of the North East of England 2003-04.
He was elected as the Member of Parliament for Hartlepool in 2004 and served in this capacity until 2017, when he decided not to seek re-election. Iain served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Housing and Planning in the Department for Communities and Local Government from 2007 to 2009 and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for 14-19 Reform and Apprenticeships between 2009 and 2010 in the Gordon Brown Government. Between 2011 and 2015 he was the opposition spokesman for Industry. Then from 2015 - 2017, he was the Chairman of Parliament’s Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Select Committee, where he led high profile inquiries into the sale of BHS and working practices at Sports Direct. He stood down at the 2017 General Election and became chief executive for a chemicals industry trade association in North East England.
He joined ICAEW as Director for Business & Industrial Strategy in April 2018. Iain is a Governor of Middlesbrough College. He also chairs the policy forum of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is on the Board of the Prompt Payment Code, administered by the Office of the Small Business Commissioner and designed to discourage late payment. He has an MA in History from University College London and obtained an MBA with Distinction from Durham University in 2019.
Frances HaqueChief Economist, Santander UKFrances is the Chief Economist for Santander UK responsible for the economic analysis and macroeconomic forecasts used by the retail bank. Her team are responsible for developing the analysis of the economic risk scenarios to support the PRA stress test and IFRS 9 processes and for planning and strategic purposes. Previously she worked for several institutions as a senior economist including, EY, BT, BBC, Ofcom and the OFT. She specialises in Competition and Regulatory economics and has appeared on BBC News, Sky News and the Today programme.
Sandra HaleConfidence UnlimitedSandra is a professional actor and comedian and in between jobs she teaches interpersonal skills and public speaking to organisations all over the country. Her very many clients include PWC, BDO and Citibank.
Paul SullivanUK Network, Senior Manager, British Business Bank, East of EnglandPaul Sullivan is a Senior Manager in the UK Network for The British Business Bank who he joined in October 2018. His role covering the East of England, is to engage closely with business finance stakeholders and intermediaries in the region to help the Bank develop a deeper understanding of small business finance markets so that, ultimately, the Bank can improve its support so these businesses, wherever they are, can grow and prosper.
Paul previously worked for Lloyds Banking Group for over thirty four years, most recently as an Area Director, managing SME relationship teams across a variety of locations in East Anglia. He also ran the specialist Regional Agriculture team engaging closely with the rural businesses and professionals in the region. Paul has also been actively involved in mentoring start-ups, SMEs and social enterprises.

Cancellations and late bookingsIf you cannot attend you can transfer your place to another individual. Places can be transferred at any time up to and including the day of the event. Cancellations received less than 14 days before the event date will not be refunded. All cancellations must be made in writing. If BBHSCA has to cancel the event, our liability in the event of cancellation is limited to a full refund of the fee.
If we receive your booking less than 7 days before the course you may not get a copy of the notes on the day. BBHSCA reserves the right to change the timing of the programme, the speakers, the date or the venue of the courses advertised. The content of individual courses may be subject to variation.
The delivery of physical courses may change in line with government guidelines.
