Employment Taxes UpdateAudience: Practice and people working in payroll departments of businesses
This session will bring those working in payroll and employment taxes up to date for the 2022/23 tax year. It will cover a range of areas and advice, some of which will be determined by changes announced in Spring 2022, but the course is expected to include material on the following topics:• Changes in tax and NIC for the new tax year; new processes to implement; relief for former service personnel• Minimum wage developments for 2022• Reviewing CJRS claims now that the scheme has ended; HMRC compliance activity insight• Changes to the taxation of benefits in kind in the last 2 years; P11D issues to watch for this year• Employee expenses - changes to the taxation of expense payments and claims; COVID specific easements• Off payroll working – a review 12 months in• Payrolling benefits – update and review of the current position
Suitable for:Any staff dealing with payroll, whether working in practice or business. The course will also be suitable for those who supervise payroll work while not being directly involved in the day to day running of payroll.

How are the courses delivered?All the Essentials CPD courses are run by live webinar
How long will be the webinar be?Total running time for the live webinars is 2hours and twenty minutes. The live webinars are split into two 50 minute sessions with a 10 minute comfort break in between and ending with a 30 minute Q&A session with the speaker.
How do I attend a live webinar?Once you've booked on you will receive an email with your booking confirmation, closer to the time of the event (3-7 days before the event) you will receive the zoom registration link and further joining instructions.
What if I miss the live date?The live webinar will be recorded and offered on-demand the following day.
How long are the on demand webinars? Total running time of the on-demand webinars is 2 hours 10 mins.

Rebecca Benneyworth MBE, BSc, FCARebecca is a chartered accountant with over 35 years experience in practice. She is a writer and consultant on a variety of taxes, and lectures throughout the UK to professionals. She works closely with HMRC on the Making Tax Digital project; and is chair of the Digital Advisory Group; she also sits on HMRC’s Administrative Burdens Advisory Board. Rebecca is a past chair of the ICAEW Tax Faculty, and was named Best Tax Lecturer at the Lexis Nexis Taxation Awards. Rebecca was awarded an MBE for services to the tax profession in 2012. Rebecca will lead our tax programme supported by a team of industry experts.
