Tax Update for Accounts and Audit StaffAudience: Practice
This session will update those working in accounts and audit with key information about the tax issues affecting their clients, while recognising that those attending may not have direct responsibility for tax computations and/or tax compliance. It will cover the following topic areas:• Key VAT developments relevant to businesses in general; sector specific changes in outline (awareness level)• Overview of MTD for income tax and how it affects business; the main obligations• Corporation tax changes and proposals for change; looking forward to the new rates and what it means for the tax and deferred tax in the accounts• Capital allowances issues – recording requirements related to the super-deduction and why; other key capital allowance points• Employment tax points to watch out for, including Benefit in kind issues; current National Minimum wage enforcement practice; CJRS compliance work and other related issues
Suitable for: Staff who do not work specifically in tax but need an understanding of tax issues relevant to their work on accounts or audit.

How are the courses delivered?All the Essentials CPD courses are run by live webinar
How long will be the webinar be?Total running time for the live webinars is 2hours and twenty minutes. The live webinars are split into two 50 minute sessions with a 10 minute comfort break in between and ending with a 30 minute Q&A session with the speaker.
How do I attend a live webinar?Once you've booked on you will receive an email with your booking confirmation, closer to the time of the event (3-7 days before the event) you will receive the zoom registration link and further joining instructions.
What if I miss the live date?The live webinar will be recorded and offered on-demand the following day.
How long are the on demand webinars? Total running time of the on-demand webinars is 2 hours 10 mins.

Rebecca Benneyworth MBE, BSc, FCARebecca is a chartered accountant with over 35 years experience in practice. She is a writer and consultant on a variety of taxes, and lectures throughout the UK to professionals. She works closely with HMRC on the Making Tax Digital project; and is chair of the Digital Advisory Group; she also sits on HMRC’s Administrative Burdens Advisory Board. Rebecca is a past chair of the ICAEW Tax Faculty, and was named Best Tax Lecturer at the Lexis Nexis Taxation Awards. Rebecca was awarded an MBE for services to the tax profession in 2012. Rebecca will lead our tax programme supported by a team of industry experts.
