More than ever, managers are required to be great leaders, and strong developers of people. With remote working and people changing roles at a fast pace than ever, keeping strong talent and being effective at supporting their development is more important than ever. Coaching is THE essential leadership skill in developing and retaining strong, productive teams.

Event Information

In this session, attendees will understand why coaching matters, what are the core techniques and how to get better at coaching. We discuss how to create a foundation for coaching to be effective, how relationships can improve coaching and a method for helping others progress through coaching.

This lunchtime session will be led by Oliver Deacon, an FCA who qualified at Deloitte and, until recently, was a finance director at Microsoft. Oliver has been managing teams for over 15 years, with consistently strong employee feedback scores, and has now become a full time coach.

Oliver is an ICAEW member, a qualified ACC Executive Coach and a former Finance Director at Microsoft. He brings a refreshing and inspiring perspective to modern finance. Throughout his career to date, Oliver has helped teams manage change through integrating the skills and cloud tools of the next generation of finance. He relocated back to the UK from Seattle in September 2019.
