So how should charities consider the level of reserves that is appropriate? What is too much, too little or just right?In this session, Sudhir Singh, Partner and Head of Not for Profit at MHA, will explain what charities should consider when setting their reserves target. Stephen Vis, Director of Finance and Services at Scripture Union, will join Sudhir to share practical tips from his charity’s recent experience of revising its reserves policy.

Sudhir is Head of Not for Profit at MHA and prior to this he was a specialist Not for Profit Partner or headed the sector groups for three other top 20 firms.
Sudhir is able to draw on over 22 years as a charity audit partner and his extensive experience in Not for Profit accounting, finance, governance, law and regulation, having served on several working and regularly speaking or writing on these topics. He is a Council member of the Royal College of Art and chairs its Audit and Risk Committee.
Stephen Vis, Director of Finance and Services, Scripture UnionStephen qualified as a Management Accountant in 1992 after studying Management Science at Warwick University. More recently he spent most of the past 20 years working for BT in a range of Finance roles before moving in 2019 to the Christian Charity Sector. He is now Director of Finance and Services at Scripture Union. He is married to Elizabeth who is a University Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Hertfordshire University. Together they lead a small group at their local church and also run CAP Money courses two or three times a year to help people budget and manage their money.
