Getting to grips with Data Analytics

This highly interactive webinar considers practical ways in which data can create value in an organisation.

The webinar begins by tracing the journey from sources of raw data through to its presentation for maximum impact. It demonstrates some of the problems to be aware of when analysing data, including data bias and correlation. This leads into consideration of wider practical issues around the use of data such as legal regulation and ethics.

The webinar culminates with an exploration of how Big Data Analytics is revolutionising data analytics and looks at how this revolution is impacting the world of finance and accountancy.

• To recognise an organisation’s General Data Protection Regulations duties

CPD hours: ICAEW’s CPD Regulations are changing. From 1 November 2023, members and other professionals regulated by ICAEW will need to complete a minimum number of hours’ CPD per year, some of which will need to be verifiable. Attending events like this could contribute to 2 hours and 10 minutes of verifiable CPD, so long as you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.

How are the courses delivered?
All the Essentials CPD courses are run by live webinar on Zoom. Once the live date has passed the courses are available on demand.

How long will be the webinar be?
Total running time for the live webinars is 2hours and twenty minutes.

The live webinars are split into two 50 minute sessions with a 10 minute comfort break in between and ending with a 30 minute Q&A session with the speaker.

How do I attend a live webinar?
Once you've booked on you will receive an email with your booking confirmation, one week before the live event you will receive the zoom registration link and further joining instructions.

How do I access the course notes?
The course slide deck will be shared with the Zoom link.

What if I miss the live date?
The live webinar will be recorded and offered on-demand 24-48 hours after the live course.

Can I watch the recording after attending the live course?
No, delegates can either attend the live session OR have access to the on demand recording, not both.
