Lockdown will also examine recent Cyber-attacks and breaches, uncovering how the incidents happened and the proactive steps that could have been taken to mitigate down the risk of a Cyber-attack.

CPD hours: ICAEW’s CPD Regulations are changing. From 1 November 2023, members and other professionals regulated by ICAEW will need to complete a minimum number of hours’ CPD per year, some of which will need to be verifiable. Karen is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW member) of over 25 years. She trained and qualified at EY in Birmingham, where she worked in audit for nearly 7 years. She then moved into industry, where she has worked in numerous global Enterprise level and several SME businesses. An experienced Group Finance Director.

She has worked in both Big Data Solution and Cyber Security Service companies. Karen loves technological innovation, but recognises that it brings a double edge sword, bringing great benefits but also increased risks. So, she co-founded Lockdown Cyber Security last year, to help educate Business Leaders and financial professionals on Cyber Risk and provide insight, as to how to enhance Cyber resilience both at home and work. Lockdown partners with the ICAEW, to deliver Cyber Security training to its members through its "Cyber Security for Accountants" program.

Lockdown is building a first of its kind Cyber Security platform for launch in 2023.

William Taaffe

William is the COO of Lockdown Cyber Security, who see Cyber Security through the eyes of a finance professional, delivering world class training products and technical solutions. William has dedicated himself towards his passion of Cyber Security, a topic of interest since his early teens. An accomplished presenter, William has spoken on behalf of major British retail banks, the British Dental Association, BMA, BMF and is a regular contributor around Cyber Fraud within the UK anti-fraud sector, delivering masterclass training sessions to industry practitioners.

In addition, William has been published and featured in industry magazines, educating on the topic of Digital Risk. A well-received trainer, William has worked with a variety of SME and Enterprise level organisations delivering bespoke training around Cyber Security and data protection.
