Charity Accounting, Reporting and Governance Spring Update

This webinar provides an essential summary of the main pronouncements in charity accounting, reporting and governance which are relevant for charity auditors and independent examiners, and finance professionals who work in or volunteer for charities. Sally will focus on developments in the 6-9 months prior to the date of the webinar and will also look ahead to what’s on the horizon and relevant for charities’ future reporting periods.

Sally will set this in the context of the sector challenges, and the impact on charities’ reporting, governance and risk management processes relevant at the time of the webinar. The webinar will highlight key messages from the Charity Commission’s investigations and monitoring work in the period, as well as the tools and opportunities available to support UK charity Trustees and their auditors / examiners.

The session will include opportunities for participants to submit questions for Sally to address during the webinar, and as part of the live Q&A session at the end.

Suitable for: Finance professionals working in or advising charities.

CPD hours: ICAEW’s CPD Regulations are changing. From 1 November 2023, members and other professionals regulated by ICAEW will need to complete a minimum number of hours’ CPD per year, some of which will need to be verifiable. Attending events like this could contribute to 2 hours and 10 minutes of verifiable CPD, so long as you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.

Sally Knight FCA
As a Chartered Accountant, and one of the first charity advisors to achieve the ICAEW’s Diploma in Charity Accounting, Sally has been leading the development and delivery of the ICAEW's Charity Essentials seminars and webinars since 2018. She draws on over twenty five years of experience working in the not for profit sector, mainly as a Partner in 'Top 20' accountancy firms in London. Sally now runs her own consultancy business specialising in tailored support and training for charity trustees, finance staff and volunteers. She brings an enthusiastic and practical perspective to her work and particularly enjoys working with trustees and Boards in the areas of effective governance, risk management and reporting.

How are the courses delivered?
All the Essentials CPD courses are run by live webinar on Zoom. Once the live date has passed the courses are available on demand.

How long will be the webinar be?
Total running time for the live webinars is 2hours and twenty minutes.

The live webinars are split into two 50 minute sessions with a 10 minute comfort break in between and ending with a 30 minute Q&A session with the speaker.

How do I attend a live webinar?
Once you've booked on you will receive an email with your booking confirmation, one week before the live event you will receive the zoom registration link and further joining instructions.

How do I access the course notes?
The course slide deck will be shared with the Zoom link.

What if I miss the live date?
The live webinar will be recorded and offered on-demand 24-48 hours after the live course.

Can I watch the recording after attending the live course?
No, delegates can either attend the live session OR have access to the on demand recording, not both.

The above discounts shown are automatically applied at the time of booking.
