Emily Smith,
Operations and Finance Director, Michael Smith Switchgear and MD at AVW fabrication
Emily Smith, runs two successful manufacturing businesses. She is Operations and Finance Director, Michael Smith Switchgear and MD at AVW fabrication. Emily became Chair of ICAEW’s Manufacturing Community in 2019 and leads a group of members who help ICAEW shape its feedback to BEIS and other government departments. She also sits on the regional board for Make UK. Emily received the accolade of Business Woman of the Year 2022 at the East Midland Chamber of Commerce.

 

Sam Achampong, Regional Head, Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply
Sam is the General Manager of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) for the MENA region, his role is to ensure that ethics, responsibility, and education are standardised within the profession and that more organisations understand the value of procurement. He has extensive experience in Senior Procurement and Strategic Sourcing roles for organisations such as Land Securities in the UK, Abu Dhabi Municipality and Majid Al Futtaim in the Middle East, and MTN across Africa.


Simon Gray, Head of Business, ICAEW
Simon is an ICAEW chartered accountant and member who qualified with KPMG in Nottingham. After many years of volunteering, including District Society President, Chair of the Business Committee and Council Member, he joined ICAEW as Head of Business in December 2021. His background is in the recruitment, careers, membership and inward investment sectors. Simon has started and run his own businesses and served as a Non-Executive Director.
