Event information

Good CFOs delegate – but, of course, ‘delegation’ implies the presence of skilled deputies who can take control when necessary.

So how can you build an elite finance team you can rely on, right now and in the future? Join ICAEW’s head of business Simon Gray, Soldo and an esteemed panel of finance experts to outline what a good finance team looks like.

Key topics

  • The future skills needed to build an elite finance team
  • The role of technology and how it can support your team
  • The role of finance across an organisation and the importance of business partnering

About the speakers

Nick Levine
Nick is a chartered accountant and fintech consultant. He was formerly the Head of Enterprise at ICAEW, and Advisory Lead at Propel by Deloitte.

Claire Graham-Rudd, Finance Manager, CATS Education
Claire is an experienced Finance Manager currently working for a Group of Private Schools in the UK and the US, looking after the transactional teams, AP, AR & Banking. She takes her motivation from continual improvement and finding more efficient ways of working and recognising these with cost savings to the business. Claire excels in building relationships with her business partners, both internal and external to get a comprehensive understanding of their needs and implementing the best solution for all parties.

Eli Ganz, FP&A Manager, Soldo
Eli is an FP&A manager at Soldo, where he leads all aspects of commercial analysis, planning and strategic modelling. He is keen to promote Finance as a commercial business partner rather than an administrative function and believes that process automation is fundamental to this. Prior to this role, he worked for several early-stage companies where he built up commercial finance functions from scratch. He has helped businesses scale rapidly, and seen them through several fundraising rounds, as well as exits.

Alastair Barlow, CEO and co-founder, Flinder
Alastair is an accountant, speaker, judge and adviser to industry forums and the CEO and co-founder of Flinder. Flinder builds and runs smart finance functions® and data analytics for venture backed businesses.
