Event Information

This course will highlight a range of challenging aspects of financial statements presentation that accountants struggle with and provide practical guidance on getting them right.

Content will include:

  • The Trustees’ Annual Report
  • Analysis of income and expenditure
  • Fund disclosures and analysis
  • Transactions with trustees and other related parties
  • Disclosures about investments, fixed assets and heritage assets
  • Remuneration disclosures
  • Different disclosure requirements for larger (>£1M income) and smaller (<£1M income charities)

This course is for accountants working within the charity sector and in professional firms of accountants who prepare, audit and/or independently examine charity accounts.

Peter Herbert

Peter is the Insight Training Director who focusses on technical programmes.

Peter specialises in financial reporting (UK GAAP and IFRS), audit, company law and practice regulation, and also has a particular interest in charity, academy and pension scheme accounting and audit.

Peter’s career started with KPMG before moving into industry and then learning and development.

Peter’s enthusiasm for his topic and commitment to the learning experience means each training day is unique, relevant, fun and memorable.

Peter also heads up our team of independent file reviewers and technical consultants offering hot and cold file reviews to accountancy practices and technical advice on aspects of accounting, audit and practice regulation compliance.
