About the speakers

Philip Britton LLB BCL
Professor Britton is co-author (with Dr Matthew Bell) of Residential Construction Law (Oxford, Hart Publishing, 2021); he is also a former Visiting Professor and Director, Centre of Construction Law and Dispute Resolution, Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London, and former Senior Fellow (Melbourne Law School).

Jatin Patel, Founding Partner, Kinnison Limited
Jatin is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. He spent 12 years at Citi as a Tax Director before moving to UBS as an Executive Director within Wealth Management, working with UHNW and international clients on their tax and wealth structuring.

Angela Paul, Senior Associate Solicitor, Irwin Mitchell
Angela is a residential property solicitor based in the London office. Angela has extensive experience working for high-net-worth clients (UK and international) and companies (domestic and offshore). Her work involves helping clients acquire and dispose of UK property, focusing on the prime London property market. Angela has acted for private banks on secured lending and property finance transactions, including experience in Islamic Finance. Angela has acted for commercial developers and property investors selling newly built apartments in London. She has acted for landlords about statutory lease extension following the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993.

Jeremy Raj, Partner, Irwin Mitchell
Jeremy is the National Head of the Residential Property Team at Irwin Mitchell. He has worked in the residential property sector for over twenty years and has particular experience in London and the South East. However, many of his clients have properties throughout the country. He specialises in all aspects of residential property law, including Development, Investment, Portfolio acquisitions, sales and management, Funding, Landlord and tenant issues, and Conveyancing for individuals, collectives and family offices. He has been extensively quoted in the national and property press and has appeared on the BBC (radio and television) and Channel Four News. He also writes an occasional blog for Huffington Post.

Joanna Themistokli, Senior Associate Solicitor, Irwin Mitchell
Joanna is a Senior Associate Solicitor in the London Residential Property and Leasehold Enfranchisement Team at Irwin Mitchell. She's a member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners. She specialises in residential landlord and tenant matters, with experience extending leases for flats and houses, individual and collective enfranchisement, freehold reversion sales and purchases and Section 5 rights of first refusal under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987. She also has extensive experience in high-end residential conveyancing in and outside London and secured lending.
