Event Information

Many organisations are developing data strategies to manage data and leverage it for the benefit of the organisation and its customers. But is it a must have?

During this webinar, David Geere, Data Strategy and Governance Director and Friederike Murach-Ward, Data Strategy Lead from PwC, will explore the key components that could form a data strategy and consider the critical link between driving organisational performance and robust data foundations.

In conversation with Ian Pay, Head of Data Analytics and Tech at ICAEW, David and Friederike will:

  • Discuss the need for collaboration and consider cross-organisational conflict. Who should own the data strategy and why?
  • Consider where to start, discussing top-down and bottom-up approaches alongside the desire for organisational quick wins.
  • Highlight the importance of blending people, skills, culture and ethics with the right governance, processes, and technology.
  • Discuss the role of finance, accountants, and others in the organisation in the creation and ultimate success of the data strategy. Will it finally help to answer the data-related questions that stakeholders typically ask? Is it, and will it help to identify, money well spent?

Key benefits

  • Knowing where to start when considering the development of a data strategy.
  • Understanding what a good data strategy might contain.
  • Considering the role of finance and accountants and the link between data strategy and better organisational decision making.
