IFRS 16 Leases has been mandatory under IFRS for a few years now. FRED 82 proposes bringing the core of this standard into UK GAAP with a current adoption date of January 2025. This webinar aims to provide an overview of the core requirements of the standard, primarily from the perspective of the lessee. Retail is one of the industries most likely to be impacted by the standard, you expect key metrics to be significantly impacted on adoption. Any entity with a lease of any asset needs to be prepared. Lessor accounting is largely unchanged but lessee behaviour might change as a result which could be significant for Real Estate entities.
Understanding, preparation and communication are all fundamental to this transition.
This webinar will help you to be aware of the proposed changes under UK GAAP and provide a core refresher for IFRS appliers. Expect to hear more on what is working well and some of the common pitfalls.
