Since its release in 2015, Power BI has taken the data modelling space by storm. Excel MVP & YouTuber David Benaim, co author of Microsoft’s what’s new in Excel monthly blog, will showcase how Excel veterans can make the switch to the app, which aspects it does better than Excel, all the ways that it interacts with Excel, and similarities. David will run through how to import data into the app, manipulate and reshape data with Power BI’s Power Query component, model data with its Power Pivot component, build out visuals, use AI enabled visuals and publish online.
CPD hours

After 5 years at Deloitte London where he qualified with ICAEW, David moved to Cambodia in 2013 and has worked with over 100 organisations and provided corporate training in Excel and more to over 3,000 participants.

David has also held the prestigious Microsoft MVP award for three years, which places him in the top 100 or so Excel users worldwide, has a YouTube tutorial channel with over 10,000 subscribers (www.youtube.com/@learnspreadsheets) and gives dozens of seminars and webinars each year all over related to Excel. David is also a regular blog writer for ICAEW including a quarterly digest on what is new in business technology.
