Event information

There have been many employment law changes during 2024, with a few yet to come. This live session will help you visualise these changes, with a focus on how employers and their workforces can encounter and handle them in their day-to-day working life. We’ll also take a closer look around the new Carer’s leave rights, the updated Acas Flexible Working Code of Practice and the latest changes to maternity and paternity rights.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions during this session.

About the speakers

Marcia Dyce, Communities Manager – Diversity & Belonging, ICAEW
Marcia Dyce is a dedicated professional who plays a pivotal role at ICAEW. As the Life Stages Communities Manager, she orchestrates a wide array of networking events, webinars, and workshops, fostering connections among ICAEW’s diverse membership. Marcia is passionate about promoting inclusivity and diversity within the organisation. Notably, she manages key communities such as Diversity and Inclusion, Women in Finance, Young Members London, and Career Breakers. Marcia’s recent initiative in establishing the Black Members Community underscores her commitment to positive change and advocacy.

John Palmer, Fair Treatment Contact, Acas
John Palmer is Senior Subject Matter Expert and a Fair Treatment Contact at Acas. He is currently developing public workplace guidance ranging from Industrial Action and Whistleblowing through to Gender-neutral language and Carer’s leave. He is also project managing the Acas strategy for 2024 employment law changes. He has carried out roles as Senior Editor and Helpline Knowledge Manager in addition to a range of operational and trade union roles since joining Acas in 2005, as well as 15 years as a school governor including responsibilities for Equal Pay reviews, performance management and recruitment. John has a background covering a wide range of employment law advice and guidance, including equality, diversity and inclusion, working time regulations and redundancy.
