Event information

Join us for an insightful webinar featuring Alex Edmans, Professor of Finance at the London Business School, as he discusses his newly released book, May Contain Lies: How Stories, Statistics, and Studies Exploit Our Biases – And What We Can Do About It. The webinar will be hosted by Peter van Veen, Director of Corporate Governance and Stewardship, who will interview Alex about the pervasive issue of misinformation and its impact on our perceptions and decisions.

May Contain Lies delves into the minefield of misinformation that permeates our daily lives, from social media and news headlines to the assertions of influential figures. Edmans' book exposes how stories, statistics, and studies are often manipulated to exploit our biases, leading to widespread acceptance of flawed information. Through compelling examples, the book highlights the dangers of mistaking statements for facts and provides strategies for discerning truth from falsehood.
