This webinar, from the Data Analytics and Excel Communities, is the last in our “Power Tools” series.

Power Apps is part of Microsoft’s platform that allows users and organisations to build simple and custom apps that connect to data sources such as SharePoint. Join John Toon, Technology Strategy lead, Emerzon Somera, Business Intelligence and Data Analyst, and Danilo Fonseca, Software Engineer apprentice from Beever and Struthers, a Manchester-based audit firm, as they explore their journey of introducing Power Apps to simplify their business processes, including the benefits and challenges they have experienced in their firm.

The speakers will also demonstrate how to create and use a custom Power App that can simplify the day-to-day people and data management tasks that professionals will come across in their organisations.
See use cases and demonstrations of how Power Apps can be connected and integrated with frequently used data sources, such as SharePoint.

This webinar requires no previous knowledge of using Power Apps.

About the speakers

Emerzon Soumera, Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer, Beever and Struthers
Emerzon Somera is a Business Intelligence/Data Analyst in the Digital Transformation team at Beever and Struthers. He enables the delivery of solutions particularly around analytics, reporting and data insights. He is a passionate tech enthusiast and has experience working with the Power Platform Stack, including Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps. Emerzon will run through a basic, easy to follow demonstration to teach you how to create your first application in Power Apps.

Danilo Fonseca, Software Engineer Apprentice, Beever and Struthers
Danilo Fonseca is a Software Engineer apprentice for the Digital Transformation team at Beever and Struthers. He is proficient in python and has experience in using Power Apps and Power Automate to create an internal expenses application for the firm. Danilo will cover the positives and negatives of using Power apps and will explore his experience in using it.

John Toon, Technology Strategy Lead, Beever and Struthers
John Toon is the Technology Strategy lead at Beever and Struthers and looks after all things technology for the firm and their clients. John leads a team that have data analytics, BI reporting, software development, automation, and systems advisory skills. They provide the firm and their clients advice on the latest technology trends, how to make use of them effectively, whilst understanding potential risks, with the goal to maintain competitive advantage, modernise and be an attractive place to work.

Facilitator: Bani Lamba, Data Analytics and Tech Manager, ICAEW
Bani manages and supports the Data Analytics and Excel Communities at ICAEW. She is also involved in delivering content for ICAEW members focusing on advancing analytics and technology within the finance profession and addressing key tech-related topics. Bani is ACA qualified and started her career at Deloitte in Audit and Assurance. During her time at Deloitte, she also worked in internal technology-enabled transformation for almost 3 years and has experience in managing and deploying specialised tools and technologies for auditors.

CPD hours

ICAEW's revised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations bring in new CPD requirements. This includes a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this webinar could contribute up to 1 hour of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.
