The FRC have updated FRS 102 and FRS 105 in the latest Periodic Review and this will have a significant impact on all companies adopting UK GAAP. This course will explain the key changes to revenue recognition and lease accounting, as well as running through the other changes which will impact financial statements in 2026.

  • Changes to revenue recognition applicable for both FRS 102 and FRS 105.
  • Changes to lease accounting applicable for FRS 102.
  • New requirements for small companies under FRS 102, Section 1A.
  • Other changes announced in the FRC’s Periodic Review impacting UK GAAP.
  • Details of the timescales for change and the transition approaches.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

The course will be useful for all preparers, auditors and users of UK GAAP financial statements. This will include micro, small, medium and large companies prepared under FRS 102 or FRS 105.

CPD hours: ICAEW’s CPD Regulations changed on 1 November 2023. Members and other professionals regulated by ICAEW need to complete a minimum number of CPD hours per year, some of which will need to be verifiable. Attending events like this could contribute 3hrs 15mins of verifiable CPD, so long as you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.

Speaker

ANDREW MEAD BSc MBA FCA

Andrew Mead is an independent consultant specialising in accounting advice and financial reporting. He also provides short term and part time finance resource as Head of Finance or Finance Director and has worked on Finance Transformations projects. His clients include a wide range of organisations and sectors where he provides both commercial and technical support. Andrew is an ICAEW Council member representing Beds, Bucks & Herts.

Andrew was an Audit Director with KPMG locally for many years where he was responsible for the audit of a mixed portfolio of clients including large commercial companies and not-for profit organisations. He also spent time within KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services team where he worked on providing solutions to complex accounting problems. Andrew is experienced in IFRS and UK GAAP. He is also an experienced presenter and has delivered financial reporting training to many organisations in the UK and overseas. Andrew is a freelance presenter for both BPP and the ICAEW Academy.

TERMS & CONDITIONS - CANCELLATIONS AND LATE BOOKINGS

Your booking will be made under the terms & conditions of Beds, Bucks & Herts Society of Chartered Accountants.

If you cannot attend you can transfer your place to another individual.

Places can be transferred at any time up to and including the day of the event.

Cancellations received less than 14 days before the event date will not be refunded. All cancellations must be made in writing to the Society and sent to the Society Administrator at kate.binks@bbhsca.org.uk

If the Society cancels the event, our liability in the event of cancellation is limited to a full refund of the fee.

If we receive your booking less than 7 days before the course, you may not get a copy of the notes on the day.

The Society reserves the right to change the timing of the programme, the speakers, the date or the venue of the courses advertised. The content of individual courses may be subject to variation.

Directions from M1

Come off at Junction 6A (the M25 Junction) and follow the signs to the M25 (East), which takes you in the direction of Dartford & South Mimms. Once on the M25, come off at Junctions 23 which takes you to the South Mimms Services. From here, get onto the A1(M) North towards Hatfield. From here, follow the directions from the A1(M) below.

From the M25 Junction 23 (South Mimms & Services) follow A1(M) North to Junction 4 and follow as below.

Come off at Junction 4 and follow the signs towards Stanborough. Once on the A6129, continue all the way down until you reach the roundabout. Turn right at this roundabout towards Welwyn Garden City. You will pass the County Police Headquarters on your right. Continue going straight up and go straight over the roundabout (2nd Exit). You will pass Gosling Sports Park on your right-hand side. Continue going straight up, you will pass a petrol station on your left. At the next roundabout, turn right (2nd Exit), and at the next roundabout turn right (3rd Exit) towards the QEII hospital. Take the immediate first left down Woodhall Lane. Continue all the way down Woodhall Lane until you reach a T Junction. Turn Left. Go straight over the first mini roundabout, and straight over the second ( 3rd Exit). Take the first right turn, which is indicated by the brown tourist sign which takes you into Homestead Lane. The Hotel is on the left-hand side.

Delegates who attend both the physical morning and afternoon Tax and Financial reporting updates will be provided with a free lunch.

 

Refreshments will also be provided on arrival and again mid-way through each course.
