Event information

Following the autumn budget given by the Chancellor, the hospitality sector is, understandably, concerned by the changes to be implemented.

In the short term, rising taxes, increasing costs, and consumer confidence risk bringing growth in the industry to a standstill. The employment costs coming in April will make it harder for businesses to support employment and investments in their businesses, particularly for small-and-medium-sized operators.

However, the longer term offers much more positive news, with the Chancellor also announcing a permanently lower level of business rates for retail, hospitality, and leisure properties from 2026/2027. This announcement could therefore be argued that she recognises the high street and the role it plays in the economy.

Given all these incoming changes, what does this mean for you and your clients? What do you need to be aware of? Join us for this webinar where our speakers discuss their thoughts for what 2025 will look like in both the short-term and the long-term, following these announcements. Some of the topics discussed will include:

  • Tourism taxes.
  • Business taxes and the rise in employers NI contributions.
  • Minimum wage increases.
  • Draught duty and the future of pubs.
  • Lower business rates for retail, hospitality, and leisure properties from 2026/2027.
  • What might the budget have in store for the sector in 2025?
