About the speaker

Kevin Pereira, Managing Director, Blu Artificial Intelligence

Kevin Pereira is the Managing Director at Blu Artificial Intelligence, an AI consulting firm in Hong Kong. Raised in Hong Kong, Kevin launched his career in Private Banking with Citi in New York, working within the Investments and Relationship Management teams. He later joined Bank of New York Mellon’s Asset Management business in Hong Kong, where he helped establish a new group specialising in products for high net worth individuals. Post-business school, Kevin ventured into the tech industry in Myanmar, focusing on building internet infrastructure, including fiber optics, cell towers, and data centres, splitting his time between a venture capital firm in Hong Kong and the portfolio company in Myanmar.

In addition to his industry roles, Kevin is deeply involved in academia. He is a part-time lecturer at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), where he teaches the MBA course “Artificial Intelligence for Business Leaders,” and a visiting scholar at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), teaching “Big Data in Finance.” He has also lectured at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, City University of Hong Kong, and the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, covering topics such as digital economy, AI in law, digital marketing, and frontier technologies. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from INSEAD.

Kevin is a sought-after speaker, having recently delivered talks at prominent events such as TEDxCityU2024, where he discussed the future impact of AI on careers, and the COO of Tomorrow Conference at J.P. Morgan, focusing on generative AI in fund management. He has also shared his insights on AI's implications for business at Adidas and the Financial Times, and participated in panels at INSEAD and Goldman Sachs. His extensive experience in both finance and AI, combined with his academic contributions, makes him a distinguished figure in the field.
