About the speakers

Andy McGoff

Andy McGoff has taken up his new post as Dean of Edinburgh Napier The Business School, alongside a newly created role of Vice Principal, Business Engagement.

Most recently Edinburgh Napier's Director of Finance and Operations, a post he held since October 2016, Andy brings an extensive experience of working in business and finance – from large corporate firms to entrepreneurial venture capital companies.

As well as responsibility for leading the School, Andy will play a significant role in building strong academic and practical links with business, commerce and the wider economy.

Having started his career as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young, he spent more than a decade at Miller Group, then the UK’s largest privately owned housebuilding, property development and construction business. He went on to work in financial consultancy for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Prior to joining the University, Andy was a Board Member with Bloxx Limited, where he had a lead role in the successful sale of the company to Akamai Technologies.

During his time with Edinburgh Napier, Andy has played a vital part in the University Leadership Team, overseeing the work of 300 colleagues across several key areas and ensuring the financial health of the institution. Under his new title, he will continue to contribute to the University’s strategic leadership.

As leader of the Business School, Andy will build on its growing calibre. In 2023 it earned accreditation from AACSB International, the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools – which is held by fewer than six per cent of institutions that offer business degrees across the world.

Edinburgh Napier has also been named a top 10 UK modern university for its courses in Accounting & Finance, Law, and Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation & Tourism.

Andy has now taken up his new role ahead of the start of the upcoming academic year.
