Why should I attend?

All sessions are confidential, allowing participants the opportunity for open discussion, to seek advice on common issues and to pose questions to like-minded professionals working at a senior level.

It is an opportunity to strengthen your professional networks, forge new business relationships, seek insight from fellow professionals, and to hone your commercial & technical skills to strengthen your capabilities as an ever-evolving finance professional.

If you're the only senior finance professional in your organisation, this forum is perfect for you. Whether you're currently a Finance Director or aspiring to be one, you'll gain access to a trusted network of peers for advice, guidance, and support.

With delegates joining from across Scotland and engaging in open, lively, and insightful topics of discussion each time, the group brings together senior ACA & FCAs from across an interesting breadth of industries and backgrounds, to encourage the sharing of experience, open learning, collaboration, networking, and peer-to-peer support.

Whilst there is typically no set agenda for these meetings, unless by delegate request, the meetings are facilitated, with all participants encouraged to take an active part in the conversation.

Insights from these discussions are gathered and, where appropriate, shared with ICAEW’s senior leadership team to raise with Government departments and steer our thought leadership. They will also be included in local conversations with the other relevant stakeholders and local business support agencies.

Who should attend?

  • Finance Directors, Chief Finance Officers, and individuals aspiring to these roles within large UK and multinational organisations across all commercial sectors.
  • Those who hold senior financial roles with a FD level of responsibility, within small and medium sized UK businesses, and across all commercial sectors
  • Senior finance professionals below main board or C-suite level moving into their first Finance Director or Chief Finance Office role

Our Finance Director & Chief Finance Officer insight group meets virtually and provides a forum to connect you with a network of fellow senior professionals spanning across Scotland.

Discussion will follow Chatham House Rules and will be chaired by David Bond FCA, ICAEW Director, Scotland, along with input from fellow member CFOs - Chris Owens and Imran Mian.
