Event information

Join us for a live webinar (with Q&A opportunity) to hear from subject matter experts about the recent updates to ICAEW's Code of Ethics. Following amendments to the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) Code and changes introduced by Council last year, our speakers will explain what these important changes mean for accountants in practice.

Two of the most significant sets of changes focus on:

  • The evolving role and mindset expected of professional accountants; and
  • New provisions governing the use of technology.

Additional key updates include:

  • Strengthened independence principles for group audits.
  • Enhanced guidance for engagement quality review objectivity.
  • New requirements for fee transparency and client communication.
  • Guidelines for identifying self-review threats in non-assurance services for PIE audit clients.
  • Updated provisions for professional behaviour approved by Council.

CPD hours

ICAEW's revised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations bring in new CPD requirements. This includes a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this webinar could contribute up to 1.5 hours of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.

A copy of the webinar booking confirmation email is accepted as evidence of verifiable CPD. You will need to save the email as a JPEG or PDF before uploading it to your record. Click here to use ICAEW’s self-assessment tool to help you work out how much CPD you will need to fulfil each year.
