About the chair 

William FitzPatrick

An established chartered accountant, chairman, non-executive director and business leader with extensive experience in practice, and in the private and charitable sectors, gained in London, Dublin and Belfast.

Worked at senior levels with PwC London and Belfast, specialising in Corporate Finance primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate recovery and reconstructions, business valuations, stock exchange listings, finance raising, and public private partnerships, with a total value in excess of £3bn.

Holds a portfolio of directorships with a number of groups involved in a diverse range of activities, including third level education, building services and foreign direct investment. Also works with company boards on corporate governance and developing business strategies to overcome difficulties and obstacles leading to increased growth and development.

Actively involved in the charitable and not for profit sectors. Is a trustee director of Craft NI, which is the lead body for Northern Ireland’s craft sector, and is the immediate past Chair of Inspire, one of the largest mental health and addiction charities in the UK and Ireland.
