Topic: Screening of the film ‘Save Our Wild Isles: Banking on a Wilder Tomorrow’ followed by an insightful panel discussion.

The film 'Banking on a Wilder Tomorrow' sheds light on the impact the finance sector has on the UK's natural environment. It explores ways employees and businesses can minimise their footprint. Hear from prominent figures like Deborah Meaden (business leader and investor), Steve Waygood (Chief Responsible Investment Officer at Aviva Investors), Emma Howard Boyd (Chair of the Green Finance Institute), and Bevis Watts (CEO of Triodos Bank UK). They'll delve into how the financial system can prioritise nature and become part of the solution to the nature crisis. Link to the film - Banking on a Wilder Tomorrow film | Save Our Wild Isles

Following the screening, there will be an insightful panel discussion featuring representatives who specialise in sustainability and ESG. They'll share their organisations' initiatives, challenges encountered, and sustainability triumphs. This is your chance to ask questions and connect with like-minded individuals. The panel will be asked pre-set questions on the day but also welcome questions from the audience. If you would like to submit your questions in advance, please email the organiser Eleanor Sainsbury.

Event Information

Stakeholders, encompassing customers, partners, suppliers, and employees, seek transparent actions in businesses' ESG initiatives. Investors value this transparency, recognising the significance of ESG credentials as a competitive differentiator. In recent years, prioritising sustainability has proven crucial. To clarify, ESG examines the world's impact on a business, while sustainability focuses on a business's impact on the world.

All sessions are run confidentially, allowing participants the opportunity for open discussion, to seek advice on common issues and challenges and to pose questions to like-minded and supportive fellow professionals from across the region. We’ll also provide an update on the latest updates available from ICAEW on the topic, and signpost you to local resources to help guide you.
