Event information

In 2025, the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) will be updated following public consultation and approval by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC). With the consultation launch anticipated in March 2025, two representatives from the SORP-making body, Laura Anderson and Rossa Keown, will join the webinar to introduce the consultation. This will be followed by a panel discussion, led by Charity Committee Chair Daniel Chan MBE, about the hot topics arising from the Consultation. There will be time for you to share your views and ask questions.

This webinar will explain how finance professionals can engage with the consultation and help charities to prepare for the key changes.

The publication of the next Charities SORP (FRS 102) is expected in October 2025 for implementation in periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026.

Under his tenure the organisation has developed from a small training organisation into an outward facing organisation which actively represents the needs and of the charity legacy sector. He has lobbied for changes to the Charities Act, the Wills Act and SORP as well as campaigning for the improvements in Probate Registry output.
