About the speakers

David Bond | Director | ICAEW Scotland

As director in Scotland, David is responsible for developing strategy, leading member support and engaging with a range of stakeholders. David is also Founder / Director of McGregor Bond, executive search, and an Associate with TRANSEARCH International, one of the top ten global executive search firms. He is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and qualified with KPMG.

Michelle Ferguson | CBI

Michelle Ferguson | Director | CBI Scotland

As Director of CBI Scotland, Michelle represents and advocates for the Scottish business community, championing innovation, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, and sustainable economic growth.

Michelle has worked extensively with local and national governments across the UK, driving collaboration on key issues such as employment, social enterprise, and sustainability. She currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, supporting local businesses with her expertise in governance and strategy.

Michelle played a pivotal role in founding Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting Armed Forces veterans. Her success in this venture led to her leadership of Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company, part of Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), where she oversaw operations across three UK factories. Earlier in her career, Michelle revitalised St Andrew’s First Aid, transforming it into Scotland’s leading provider of First Aid Training.

A mother of two, Michelle balances her professional achievements with a love of travel and a keen interest in emerging technologies.
