Event information

This webinar will cover the technical and financial impacts of selling a business and the emotional and personal aspects that business owners should consider. The scene-setting will provide an overview of the value that can be added by a Financial Planner in the sales process before, during the sale and after exit.

Financial planning considerations of running a business will also be covered, with conversations such as:

  • What should business owners be thinking about in terms of their financial planning as they run their business and even before they have considered the exit process?
  • How do they reduce their risk?
  • Should they rely on their business exit to provide their needs or should they do some other planning before this?
  • What are the human and emotional aspects to be considered leading up to a sale?
  • How can you plan for post-exit life?

Key topics

  • The financial planning considerations in the lead-up to sale.
  • The human and emotional considerations in the lead-up to sale and post-sale.
  • The financial planning considerations post-sale and how sale proceeds should be invested with case studies.
  • Identifying areas where financial planners can add value and collaborate with accountants.
