Topical audit problems and solutions from the ICAEW helpline

Audience: Practice

The course will look at real life problems, from the ICAEW Technical Helpline that auditors have recently experienced and examine practical and efficient solutions.

The course is a topical course and the content will reflect that. However, it might cover:

  • Risk assessment
  • The latest thinking on professional scepticism
  • Group audit issues
  • Auditor independence
  • Addressing the risk of fraud
  • How much needs to be done on journals
  • Getting materiality right
  • The latest thinking on sample sizes
  • Laws and regulations
  • Preliminary analytical review

Suitable for: This update is for all senior auditors, including audit seniors, managers and partners.

CPD hours: ICAEW's revised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations bring in new CPD requirements. This includes a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this webinar could contribute up to 2 hours 10 minutes of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role. A copy of the webinar booking confirmation email is accepted as evidence of verifiable CPD. You will need to save the email as a JPEG or PDF before uploading it to your record. Click here to use ICAEW’s self-assessment tool to help you work out how much CPD you will need to fulfil each year.
