We’ll also explore how firms are using cold file reviews, root cause analysis and remediation to strengthen audit quality and meet ISQM 1 requirements.

About the speakers

Neil Lawrinson, Senior Quality Assurance Manager, ICAEW Professional Standards Department Neil has over 25 years’ experience in audit practice working with a wide range of clients from small businesses through to larger groups (including AIM listed) and an ‘other entity of public interest’. He was an audit responsible individual and UK director of audit methodology at Mazars, and a member of ICAEW’s Technical and Practical Auditing Committee. Since joining ICAEW in 2021 Neil has worked with all sizes of firms. He has a lead role in ICAEW’s whole firm audit monitoring reviews that have focused on ISQM 1 implementation.

Neil Reynolds, Head of Audit, Quality Assurance Department, ICAEW Nick Reynolds, Head of Audit, Quality Assurance Department, joined ICAEW in 2007 as a quality assurance reviewer, following experience as a senior audit manager at a Big Four firm. As Head of Audit, he has overall responsibility for ICAEW’s audit-related monitoring activities, principally statutory audit monitoring both in the corporate and public sector – as well as oversight of ICAEW’s third-party audit monitoring work.

Nick Reynolds, Quality Assurance Department Head of Audit will also be joining the session to answer your questions during the live Q&A.
