At the AGM you can hear about the business of the past year, contribute your views and stand to join the organising committee.

There will be nibbles and a drink provided, and after the formalities an opportunity to continue the discussion and network with peers at Porter's bar downstairs.

Event Information

Any ICAEW student living or working in South and East Wales may put a motion to the Annual General Meeting. The Secretary must receive notice of such a motion, supported by ten other ICAEW students within the area at james.addison@audit.wales before Thursday 5 June 23:59.

Election Notice

Notice is hereby given that a new organising committee for SEWCASS will be elected at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday 12 June 2025.

Any ICAEW student living or working in South and East Wales may stand in the election.

To stand for election to the SEWCASS organising committee, please email the society Secretary at james.addison@audit.wales indicating your willingness to stand. You do not need to include additional nominations, or to specify a committee role.

The closing date for eligible persons to put themselves forward as a candidate for election is Thursday 5 June at 23:59.

Secret balloting will be conducted at the AGM using a ranked choice voting system.

Any ICAEW Student living or working in South and East Wales may vote in the election, either in person or through a nominated proxy voter. Please book online using this event page to register to vote, or email james.addison@audit.wales

We appreciate there may be travel considerations to be able to attend the meeting at 18:00. From 18:00 - 18:30 there will be registration and nibbles. It is anticipated the formal part of the meeting will conclude by 19:30.

Dress code: work attire or casual clothes are acceptable.

Meeting Notice

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the South and East Wales Chartered Accountant Student Society (SEWCASS) will be held on Thursday 12 June 2025, starting at 18:00. It is open to all students who live or work in the South and East Wales area, either to attend in person or by nomitating a proxy voter.

This is the first AGM of the re-formed SEWCASS after a four year hiatus.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

1) Presentation of 2024-25 accounts
2) Election of new organising committee
3) To consider any motions put forward by the student body
4) Any other business

The AGM is open to all and is free to attend for ICAEW students and members. The cost for those unaffiliated with the ICAEW who wish to attend is £5.00 to cover the cost of food and drink. Please book online using this event page, or email james.addison@audit.wales.

 

Find Porter's on the corner at the end of Barrack Lane and Hill Street (Opposite the old Debbenham's). Look for black sign with a golden 'P' in gothic typeface.

From Cardiff Central exit the station Central Square, 10 minute walk. Head East from the station onto Mill Lane, continue walking up the Hayes, turn right onto Hill Street and venue is straight ahead.

The nearest bus stops are Bute Terrace or Cardiff Bus Interchange.

Nearest 24 hour cars parks: St David's Centre and NCP Westgate Street.
