About the speakers

Simon Gray | ICAEW Head of Business | Chairperson

Alice Kinder | Employment Legal Director | Bexley Beaumont

Alice Kinder is an experienced Legal Director in the Employment Team at Bexley Beaumont. Alice’s people-focused, balanced and practical approach has established her as a trusted advisor on employment matters, known for delivering clear and straightforward guidance that protects her clients’ interests and promotes fair and inclusive work environments. Alice offers comprehensive support to employers at every stage of the employment lifecycle. She advises on key HR matters, including drafting and reviewing employment contracts and policies, handling disciplinary and grievance procedures, managing discrimination claims, and navigating the complexities of TUPE. She also provides specialist guidance on projects including change management programmes, corporate transactions, and large-scale redundancies. Alice has successfully represented clients in Employment Tribunal claims, securing positive outcomes while minimising distress and disruption. In addition to her advisory work, Alice offers tailored training sessions on employment practice and equality, diversity and inclusion. Alice’s expertise is enhanced by her experience as a Board director and visiting lecturer. These roles have strengthened her ability to explain complex legal concepts in simple terms while offering advice that is grounded in real-world scenarios.

Tracy Sherratt | West Midlands Senior Manager | British Business Bank 

Tracy is a Senior Manager for the UK Network covering the West Midlands. The UK Network seeks to enhance business finance ecosystems across the UK so smaller businesses, wherever they are, can grow and prosper. It also helps the Bank develop a deeper understanding of small business finance markets in all parts of the UK so that, ultimately, the Bank can improve its support to smaller businesses everywhere. 

Tracy joined the British Business Bank from BCRS Business Loans, where she focused on supporting SME’s providing funding solutions as a business development manager as well as engaging with local authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and other Key Business Introducers.  

Prior to that, Tracy built her career in Personal and Business banking spending 10 years with Barclays covering the West Midlands area.
