Event information

The way charities will assess the recognition of income is changing under the upcoming Charities SORP 2026, especially for income generated from contracts and legacy income. This practical webinar is designed to help finance professionals working with charities get to grips with the proposed new recognition criteria, including the 5-step model for recognising income from contracts with third parties.

Join RSM’s Nick Sladden and Sharon Monteith, as they highlight the key changes, clarifying how to distinguish between non-exchange and exchange transactions, and explaining the difference between restrictions and performance conditions. Through worked examples tailored to real charity scenarios, you’ll see how these changes could affect your financial reporting—and what you need to do now to get ready.

Key benefits

  • How to distinguish between exchange and non-exchange transactions.
  • Learn about the new income recognition requirements for contract income under FRS 102 and applying the 5-step model.
  • Understand the changes to legacy income.
  • Refresh your knowledge on the recognition criteria for other key income streams.
  • Understand how to implement the changes.
