Event information

Leading and participating in an effective advisory board requires a continual balance of art and science – combining skilled facilitation, adaptive engagement and collaboration with structured processes, clear governance and measurable outcomes.

The Advisory Board Centre’s State of the Market Report 2025-2027 provides a definitive exploration of these principles, highlighting emerging standards that are shaping advisory boards worldwide.

Discover the art and science of advisory board best practice.

The report, launched in May 2025, examines critical trends and insights across several key areas, including:

  • Emerging megatrends: The integration of advisory boards into broader governance systems; informed leadership driven by advisory board insights; and the balancing of short-term responsiveness with long-term strategic vision.
  • Evolution of the advisory profession: Understand how rapid global growth in advisory professionals is reshaping the profession, redefining essential roles and competencies for Sponsors, Secretariats, and Chairs.
  • Stewardship of best practice: Explore enhancements to advisory standards, including the ABF101 Advisory Board Best Practice Framework™ and Code of Ethics.
  • Competitive advantage: Learn how leading organisations are harnessing advisory boards to navigate economic uncertainty, accelerate strategy execution, enhance profitability and drive innovation.

Drawing from extensive global research, expert perspectives and authoritative industry data, the State of the Market Global Report 2025-2027 is essential reading for corporate leaders, government organisations and others interested in advisory best practice.
