A non-executive director in the public sector sits on the board of central government departments, their arms-length bodies, local police and fire authorities, and NHS trusts.

Chartered accountants possess many of the skills required to be an effective non-executive director in the public sector. With a high number of governance failures across the public sector in recent years, ensuring good governance has never been more important, and non-executive directors play a vital role in scrutinising organisational performance, providing critical challenge, and offering advice where required.

This webinar will dive deeper into the role of a public sector non-executive director and explore what key skills and qualities are needed to be ideally placed to contribute on the boards of public bodies. The webinar will also highlight where to find non-executive roles, with applications sought from individuals of all backgrounds.
