Event information

Are you thinking about becoming a Non-Executive Director (NED) in the future? Starting early can give you a competitive edge – and a charity trusteeship could be the perfect first step.

This webinar will:

  • Explain what a trustee role is and how it differs from a NED position.
  • Explore how trusteeship can (and can’t) act as a stepping stone into NED roles.
  • Discuss how charity boards benefit from fresh perspectives – where passion and commitment can matter more than years of experience.

Whether you’re motivated by professional growth, giving back to your community, or building your leadership credentials, this session will help you decide if trusteeship is right for you.

Key benefits

  • Understand the rewards, risks, and responsibilities of trusteeship.
  • Learn why aligning with a cause you care about is important and how to build valuable networks in the sector.
  • Discover ICAEW resources and support to help you secure your first trustee role.

CPD hours

ICAEW's revised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations bring in new CPD requirements. This includes a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this webinar could contribute up to 1hr of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.
