Our women-led insight group provides a supportive space for ICAEW members across Scotland to connect, collaborate, and grow. We bring together professionals working in accounting and finance across industries and career stages.

This session is designed to foster:

  • Peer-to-peer support in a confidential, non-judgemental environment.

  • Open conversations on challenges and opportunities facing women in finance.

  • Insightful discussions on leadership, workplace culture, and personal development.

  • Networking and collaboration with like-minded professionals.

Event information | Topic: Impostor syndrome

Despite strong evidence of their capabilities, many women in finance report experiencing impostor syndrome, feeling like they don’t belong or haven’t earned their success. A recent ‘Mind the Gap’ KPMG study found that 75% of women in leadership roles have faced this challenge.

In this session, we’ll explore:

  • What impostor syndrome is and how it manifests.

  • Its impact on confidence, career progression, and wellbeing.

  • Practical strategies to manage it, for yourself and others.

  • Shared stories and lived experiences from peers.

This is a safe, supportive space to reflect, learn, and leave with greater self-awareness and actionable insights.

The session will be facilitated by Helen Mullin (member) and we will hear from Susan Baird, executive coach, Advantage Coaching.

All discussions are held under Chatham House Rule.
