Event information

In this webinar we will then consider how banks and insurance companies manage climate related risks, in order to ensure their resilience and in light of increasing regulatory expectations and market scrutiny.

About the speakers

Alessandra Mongiardino
Alessandra is an accomplished executive and independent Non-executive Director with over 25 years of international Risk Management experience, having held senior roles in large banks and asset management firms. She is an expert in delivering high quality, risk based advice, bringing a strategic and holistic approach to risk management. She is a Non-Executive Director at Triodos Bank UK, a member of the Financial Services Faculty Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the former Managing Director of Financial and Strategic Risk at NatWest.

John Mongulard, Associate Director, Grant Thornton
John leads Grant Thornton’s internal audit reviews for bank and building society clients, covering areas such as credit risk, enterprise risk management, operational risk, capitalisation for risk (ICAAPs), model risk management, and climate change risk oversight. With 15 years of regulatory experience at the PRA, John has supervised various banks, including Nationwide Building Society and Lloyds Banking Group, and led assessments of internal audit, governance, and risk management. He also worked at the ICAEW, focusing on IFRS 9, the accounting standard for bank credit provisions.

CPD hours

ICAEW's revised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations bring in new CPD requirements. This includes a minimum number of hours and an ethics requirement. Attending this webinar could contribute up to 1 hour of verifiable CPD, providing you can demonstrate that the content is relevant to your role.
