Event information

This webinar will provide an update on the EU’s VAT in the Digital Age new rules with a particular focus on the proposal to update the VAT rules for passenger transport and short-term accommodation platforms. Under the new rules, platform economy operators themselves will be deemed responsible for collecting VAT, when service providers do not, and for remitting this VAT to tax authorities. This webinar will consider whether the new rules will ensure a uniform approach across all Member States and contribute to a more level playing field between online and traditional accommodation and transport services. Will the proposals make life simpler for SMEs using the platforms as they will no longer need to understand and ensure compliance with VAT rules? What impact will the changes have on UK businesses operating in these sectors?

Key benefits

  • Gain practical insights into the new rules.
  • Learn about the phased implementation timeline.
  • Find out what the changes mean for UK businesses operating in the platform economy.
